INOV8 MudTalon, Women’s: a trail & fell running shoe for everyday training over any distance on soft and muddy ground.
Built for hills, mountains and mud, the MUDTALON provides superior grip on any terrain you’ll encounter. Talon-like 8mm studs will gouge through soft mud, but also cling to wet rock for dependable grip and traction. The unique goat’s hoof shape of the studs also release the mud just as quick once you push off, keeping you feeling light and in control.
The MUDTALON benefits from our lightest midsole foam yet: POWERFLOW PRO. Compared to the MUDTALON SPEED, the MUDTALON has a slightly thicker midsole, to give greater comfort and bounce over long distances. Despite the cushioning, the shoes midsole has been designed in such a way that you can still feel and respond to the ground beneath you something that’s particularly important when running in the hills and mountains.
The brand-new anatomical shape of the MUDTALON hugs the natural contours of your foot, locking in at the heel and widening at the toes for a secure, comfortable feel. Built into that we have two new specific fits for MUDTALON – Precision Fit and Wide Fit. The biggest difference between the two fits is the width at the toe-box, with the Wide fit being wider:
A secure, locked-in feel at the heel is achieved by a MET-CRADLE. Thick overlay strips connect your midfoot to your heel, which pulls in when you tighten your laces. Underfoot, a flexible ROCK-PLATE protects your feet against sharp rocks and tree roots.
The MUDTALON’s tough upper is made from ballistic nylon. This rugged and robust material will protect against wear from vegetation and rocks when in the hills and mountains.

Product Care
Running Footwear
To maximise the life of your running shoes, make sure you dry them fully between runs. When dirty or muddy, clean your shoes to maintain the flexibility of the upper and its resistance to wear.
Washing:
For best results hand wash your shoes as close to the end of your run as possible. To wash your shoes:
- Remove the insoles and loosen or remove the laces.
- Brush off dried/caked mud using a soft brush.
- Rinse your shoes under cold running water while brushing off any remaining mud/debris (an old toothbrush is perfect for this).
Drying:
Place your shoes in a warm room, an airing cupboard or outside (but not in direct sunlight) to dry. Do not dry your shoes in a tumble drier or next to radiators, fireplaces or hot summer sunlight.
You can speed up the drying process by removing the shoe’s insole and shoelaces, and by stuffing them with newspaper.
Make sure your shoes are completely dry before wearing again.
RE-WATERPROOFING:
As with all water-repellent treatments, over time they begin to lose their effectiveness. To maintain your shoe’s waterproof finish, we recommend periodically re-waterproofing them using a product such as Grangers® Footwear Repel Plus.
