Dr Ron Hill MBE founded Ronhill in September 1970. He had just become the first Briton to win the Boston Marathon, setting a record time of 2:10:30. Hill held a PhD in Textile Chemistry from the University of Manchester. He used that expertise to rethink the running kit of his era.
Hill designed the side-split short, which became the famous Freedom Short. He also created the Mesh Vest. Both pieces went on to accompany him through his biggest wins on the road. Ronhill still builds on that heritage today, developing running clothing for race day, trail and everyday training.
